PARIS – Japanese designer Shigeru Miyamoto, who 20 years ago created Mario, the video game superhero and Nintendo mascot, has been knighted. France’s culture minister Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres made Miyamoto a knight of the Order of Arts and Letters.
