I promise I’ll start posting photos of London to prove I am actually here, but with so many photos from Japan I still haven’t shared, what am I supposed to do? While in Kyoto I wandered into Nishiki Market, Kyoto’s oldest food market. My sense of direction is terrible, but it was harder to find… Continue reading Kyoto Nishiki Market

London now
I doubt you would believe me if I say that the sky is blue for almost the entire week so I’ll show you instead. Along with the sky are ofcourse topless British men showing off their very pasty white chests for the world to see. Still can’t quite believe that a week ago I was… Continue reading London now
Tree Planting
Tree planting with the local kids and farmers, the trees were planted at the edge of the farms to prevent further erosion to the soil. Needless to say the kids were much better at handling a shovel than I was. On the flip side we got more local coverage again. This little guy is my… Continue reading Tree Planting

What I wasn’t expecting was the sheer volume and quality of the food in Hokkaido, especially in the region we were working at. The ocean is so close, that… Continue reading Seafood in Hokkaido
Kiritappu Wetland
I’m typing this while staring outside the window of my bedroom at Pension Porch (quaint little pension, with fantastic food and a landlord who’s quite a character). Where I am geographically is more or less here. I’m in a little town called Hanamaka in Hokkaido, so remote that my Japan Lonely Planet guide mentioned the… Continue reading Kiritappu Wetland
Japan diary – Sanja Matsuri
Through pure chance I arrived in Tokyo during the height of the Sanja Matsuri.
